Hiring: Wastewater Treatment Operator for Village of Rockton

The Village of Rockton is accepting applications for a full-time position in the Public Works Department. This position will report to the Public Works Department Facility Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30pm and will work under the general direction of the Public Works Director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operation and maintenance of an Activated Sludge wastewater treatment plant. Working with the maintenance, repair and operations of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Employee will be working with chemicals, doing J.U.L.I.E locates, street repairs, snow plowing, maintenance of Village vehicles and equipment. Employee will also be operating a skid steer and backhoe. This position is also on call for water and wastewater emergencies and snow plowing. 

Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy physical demands, including lifting up to 100 lbs., working on your feet all day, walking (3 plus miles daily) and climbing.

Qualifications: Basic knowledge in wastewater treatment, previous work in a Public Works department, High School diploma or GED, Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement. Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. Mechanical experience a plus.

Residence: Must live within a 25-minute response time to the Village of Rockton.

Salary: Based upon qualifications.
