Marianne Mueller grew up in Roscoe, IL. She is a longtime community volunteer. Mueller's writing journey began 21 years ago where she started writing the Rockton Ramblings column in the Herald newspaper. From those beginnings, Mueller moved on to writing feature stories. Rockton Ramblings is Mueller's Facebook page. She also works full time as a caregiver. She lives in Machesney Park with her boyfriend and two cats.
Marianne started volunteering with the Our Town Committee and Katie Cronin when she was fresh out of high school. The Stateline Chamber of Commerce gave her their Community Service Award in 2023. She was on the Rockton Christmas Walk committee for 25 years, at least 10 of which she chaired or co- chaired. She was also a nine time chair of the Rockton Easter egg hunts and Halloween events over the years. As of 2023, she is Secretary for the American Legion Auxiliary and is a past historian for the group.
Before it merged to form the Stateline Chamber of Commerce, Marianne was active in the Rockton Chamber of Commerce. The group named her Member of the Year her first year. She later became Secretary and in 2000, President. They presented her with the Spirit of Rockton Award in 2010 and the Community Excellence Award in 2013. In 2012 she was awarded the Rotary Community Service Award.
