Highview in the Woodlands in Rockton, Illinois has been acquiredby Wesley Willows Corporation, also a non-profit organization, based in Rockford. Founded in 1904 by two Rockford women, Highview in the Woodlands is a standalone assisted living and memory care community with 62 apartments, 36 residential units for assisted living and 26 private apartments for memory care. Wesley Willows also owns Peterson Meadows.


Natalie Hahn, a Cinema and Media Arts major from Roscoe, IL, was named to Biola University's Dean's List for academic excellence. Biola students are placed on the dean's list to honor those with a GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and whose cumulative GPA is at least 3.2.


Emily Sims and Rockton resident Patrick Longacre had photos selected for the Chicago Center for Photojournalism's first group exhibition, “In Protest: Global Activism.” The opening reception is October 17, 2024 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and the exhibition runs until Dec. 2, 2024.
