This beginner-friendly bird outing will include an introduction to birding and guided stroll on our Rock River Birding & Hiking Trail, a one mile loop path. All experience levels are welcome. First Saturday Restoration Day at Keefer Nature Reserve - Sat Jan 6 9:00 am

William & Gayle Keefer Nature Reserve

9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Volunteering at the William & Gayle Keefer Nature Reserve is rewarding, especially when you see the spring ephemerals emerge in the woodlands after a long winter. Historic records show prairie and savanna in some areas of this site, so staff and volunteers are working to restore these places. There are quarries on this site that we are also working to restore to native habitat.
