Veterans Day - Mon Nov 11 4:00 pm
Veterans Day honors the military veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. It was originally called Armistice Day because the armistice with Germany took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, officially ending World War I. It was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. Veterans are traditionally given free meals by the Roscoe VFW, while others can enjoy turkey dinners at a reasonable price there and at the Old Stone Church in Rockton. [more details]
