Get ready for the Jaimie Cox Memorial Motorcycle Rally

The sixth annual Jaimie Cox Memorial Rally is just around the corner. The yearly motorcycle ride begins at Roscoe VFW Post 2955, at 11385 2nd St. in Roscoe IL, on Saturday morning, August 24, 2024.

Pre-registration is open until 9 a.m. Friday, August 23. The fee is $20 per person in advance or $25 on the day of the event for each driver or passenger of bikes and cars.

Each paid registration will receive an entry to win a pair of Aaron Lewis concert tickets at the new Hard Rock Live concert venue in Rockford, Illinois, in December. A limited number of additional entries will be available for purchase at the event for $5 (cash only). A winning name will be drawn at Crazy Times Pub and Grill in Machesney Park, Illinois, between 4:00 and 4:30 pm, on Saturday. Winner must be present.

Registration and check-in will kick off at 8:30 a.m. at the VFW, 11385 2nd Street in Roscoe. The VFW will be hosting a full breakfast before the rally begins.

Registration ends at 10:00 am with a few words and special recognitions before "Kickstands Up!" and riding out begins at 10:30 am.

Sheriffs from Winnebago and Ogle County and several local agencies will oversee the event.

The first stop will be at The Idle Hour in Mt. Morris, Illinois.

Second stop is at Bootie’s and The Railway in Pecatonica, Illinois. Both locations are across Main Street from each other.

The third stop will be at Crazy Times Pub and Grub off 251 in Machesney Park, Illinois. Brats and hot dog dinner for volunteers and participants will be served. Later on, Blue Steel, a local band, will entertain at an after party.

Jaimie Cox was a Rockford Police officer who was killed in the line of duty, November 5, 2017. He was from Roscoe and lived in South Beloit at the time of his death. A graduate of Hononegah Community High School and Kinnikinnick schools, he led a life of service to the community.

In 2019, a foundation was established in his name by friends and family.

All proceeds from the rally will benefit the Jaimie Cox Memorial Foundation, to help better the lives of veterans, first responders and underprivileged children.
