South Beloit looking to get victory number 2 on the 2024 season

South Beloit plays host to River Ridge Friday night, Sept. 13, 2024, in an 8-man Northwest Upstate Illini conference game. The SOBOs are 1-1 while River Ridge is 0-2 on the 2024 season.

South Beloit head coach Josh Redieske stated that after last week's win over Orangeville, he feels as though "they have found some things they can count on now." He expects them to continue to build more positive plays going forward.

South Beloit has been led so far this season by senior Trudane Peterson,
who has been making plays in all three areas of the game. He runs the ball on offense, makes impact plays on defense, and last week blocked a punt and returned it for a TD.

River Ridge in Hanover, Illinois comes to the South Beloit Athletic Complex led by three-sport athlete Damon Dittmarat QB. So far the offense for River Ridge hasn’t gotten out to great starts and shoots themselves in the foot with penalties and mental errors, having only scored 14 points total in two games. They have lost both games this season: week 1 to West Carroll 64-14 and week 2 56-0 to Polo. The River Ridge Wildcats head coach is Doug Nicholas. Coach Nicholas has been the leader of the Wildcats program for 9 seasons now. Last season, River Ridge was 4-5 and was 4th in the 8-man North at 2-3. In 2020 River Ridge finished the shortened season at 6-0.
