Theater on Saturday, upcoming events

- When South Beloit High School Theater presented their first musical last December, A Charlie Brown Christmas, the copyright owner wouldn't let us mention it, afraid that people would go to see it instead of a nearby professional production. Now, for the first time, we can announce a live show on the stage of South Beloit High School. The comic play, Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up) will be presented Saturday, Apr. 26, 2025, 6:30 pm, at South Beloit High School. In this play, it's Dad's turn to tell his three rambunctious kids their bedtime stories, but when he gets fuzzy on the details, the classics get creative: a prince with a snoring problem spices up The Princess and The Pea, The Boy Who Cried Wolf cries dinosaur instead, and Rumpelstiltskin helps turn all that pesky gold into straw. You may think you know your fairy tales, but not the way Dad tells them.
- Upcoming stories: death notices, the best robotics competition ever, local multi-instrumental songwriter
