Nature At The Confluence preparing for summer with return of Community Fire & Drum Circles

According to Nature At The Confluence in South Beloit, "the heart-warming Community Fire & Drum Circle series" begins again this month, Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 6 -8 p.m. Drumming is optional- all are welcome to simply enjoy the fire, listen to the music, and make a s’more. This is a free, family-friendly event and there is no registration. 

Missy of The Sacred Tree will begin the evening at 6 p.m. with a "healing sound bath." Participants are welcome to sit or lay down during the outdoor sound bath. Drumming will begin at 6:30pm, guided by David Stocker. Musical instruments are available to try, or you are welcome to bring your own. 

The Community Fire & Drum Circle series will also take place at 6:30-8 p.m. on June 20, July 28, August 15, and September 19, 2024.

Summer hours begin on June 1 at Nature At The Confluence. The Learning Center building will be open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. While inside, visitors can learn about the magic of monarchs, enjoy the indoor kids corner, and try out an Adventure Backpack. Six backpacks, each with a unique theme, are available for borrowing on the property at no cost. Themes include birds, bats, insects, art and poetry, sports and games, and outdoor comfort.

To kick off the summer season, check out “Meet Me At The Confluence” on Saturday, June 1 from 1-3 p.m. Family friendly yoga will be offered at 1 p.m. and a staff guided creek walk will take place at 2 p.m. Suggested $10 donation per family.

All events take place at Nature At The Confluence, 306 Dickop St. South Beloit, IL. The grounds and trails are open every day from dawn to dusk and are pet-friendly. A full list of upcoming events can be found at natureattheconfluence.com, or by calling 815-200-6910.
