Update: The temps dropped Friday night in South Beloit but the SOBOs heated up in the 2nd half and rolled over Orangeville 42-20. Not only was the victory the first for the SOBOs team but also Head Coach Josh Redieske got his first win as head coach of his alma mater.

South Beloit is hosting Orangeville in the home opener for the SOBOs, Friday night September 6, 2024 at 7 pm.

Earlier in the week, I spoke with head coach Josh Redieske regarding the opening week game against Polo and how they are working on things to improve from their 44-8 loss.

He mentioned the need to execute better on offense, defense, and special teams. They came out of the game a little banged up but expects most of the team to be ready for this week. No final health reports were ready at the time of our interview.

Coach Redieske did make note of Trudane Peterson's defense last week against Polo. The 6 feet 1 inch senior was all over the field finishing with nine tackles including three tackles for loss. On offense the senior also played offense and got eight carries.

The SOBOs come into the Week 2 matchup having completed 27 passes but managed just 100 yards. If you head over and watch South Beloit SOBOs on Friday night, expect a close matchup as Orangeville also lost in Week 1 of the 2024 Football season.

This is a big game, as with only a nine game season, losing two in a row at any point is tough. Starting off the season by losing two in a row puts you behind the playoff chains.
