Jessica Grann received a recognition award at a special March 23 ceremony at Harlem-Roscoe Fire Station One, for her quick-action during a cardiac arrest on December 23. Chief Don Shoevlin honored Jessica, a good Samaritan, who provided life saving CPR to Lonnie Nelson until firefighters arrived to continue his treatment and transport him to the hospital. Lonnie's family and friends, along with the firefighters who responded, were on hand for the event. Chief Shoevlin said, "Recognition is warranted to individuals who go out of their way to help others at extreme times of need. In this case Jessica stepping up was life saving."
Local realtor Angela Ketelsen and her clients will be appearing in Season 213, Episode 11 of HGTV's House Hunters. In Return to Wisconsin, "High school sweethearts look to return home to be closer to family in Wisconsin. He's looking for a big and grand house with minimal acreage while she prefers a smaller home with a lot of land, so agreeing on the perfect place will be a challenge." The show airs on Wednesday, April 6 at 9:30 p.m. Central.
On Monday evening, March 28, 2022 at 7:00 p.m., Rockton Township Historical Society (RTHS) is giving a free public presentation in remembrance of the Wagon Wheel Resort, one of Rockton's best-known landmarks. Begun in 1936 as a gas station and a hamburger stand, the resort eventually sprawled across 314 acres to include an air strip, celebrities, bowling alley, ice skating rinks, golf course, seven specialty shops, miniature train, a 35 acre lake, two-run ski hill, and a dinner theater.
The Stateline Business Expo returns to Hononegah Community High School Fieldhouse this weekend. Admission is free. More than 50 vendors will be there, plus food and entertainment.
