Darlene K. Moore was the grandma with the cool car

Darlene Kay Moore, age 78 of Markesan, WI, formerly of Rockton, IL, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Darlene was born in Muscoda, Wisconsin, on January 27, 1945, the daughter of Glen E. and Edith E. (Banker) Mallo. While she lived in Rockton, Illinois and Shirland, Illinois for most of her life, she was always a true Packers fan. In retirement, she spent her time driving the school bus for the area schools. Darlene was the grandma with the cool car and loved going on road trips with family and friends, especially when they got to attend NASCAR races around the country. She also enjoyed shopping and gardening.

Darlene is survived by her children, Patricia Alexander, Steve (Kari) Moore, and Russell (Christine Schwartz) Moore; grandchildren, Alysia (Tom) Ukleja, Jessica (Cody) McLean, Stephanie Moore, Krista (Caiti Uptagraw) Moore, Becky (Brandon) Falzone, Kaylee (Ryan Spranger) Moore, and Nick Moore; 8 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Moore; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Travis Alexander, sister, Audrey Higgenbotham; brother, Lee Mallo; son-in-law, Jack Alexander; and other relatives.

In honoring her wishes, private family services for Darlene will be held.
