Weekend weather forecast for Rockton and Roscoe

Saturday December 3

The National Weather Service predicts colder weather for Saturday, warming up for Sunday. There was a chance of flurries Friday night into Saturday between 2-3 a.m., but mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. A nighttime blustery, west northwest wind around 25 mph was expected to calm by Saturday afternoon. 

Friday night, westerly winds will gust to as high as 45 mph overnight into Saturday morning behind a cold front before gradually subsiding throughout the day on Saturday.

With cloud cover blown off by 6 a.m., Saturday is expected to be sunny but cold, with a high near 28. A west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph should decrease to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Until then, winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

For the Rockton Christmas Walk on Saturday, Santa will be sensibly waiting for his guests inside the warm Village Hall, instead of under the gazebo at Settlers Park. 

Saturday night, for the Lighted Parade, the sky will be mostly clear, about 23 degrees at 6 p.m., with a nighttime low around 17. West winds will drop to 5 to 10 mph and will turn south southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Sunday will again be sunny but warmer, with a high near 38. The wind will be southwest, 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Mostly cloudy throughout the day.

High: 40° Low: 20° with a 27% chance of snow with 6 mph winds from the NNE.


Thursday December 8

Foggy in the afternoon.

High: 37° Low: 16° with a 34% chance of snow with 6 mph winds from the NNE.
