• The Village of Roscoe is one of the few local municipalities that didn’t vote to continue collecting a grocery sales tax which had brought in about $98,000 a year. Trustee Michael Wright told us it wasn’t a mistake. They can use the decision as a marketing tool: “come to Roscoe and NOT pay the extra grocery tax anymore.“ He explains, “The Village has a healthy bank account so we thought the 98k was feasible to give the Roscoe taxpayer a break... from more taxes!”
