Free saplings, no minibikes, produce reprieve
Rockton-Roscoe News brings you Friday's stories from Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit.

- In celebration of Earth Day, Nature At The Confluence, 306 Dickop Street, South Beloit, IL will distribute 450 free bare-root oak saplings on Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Instructions for planting will be provided. In the past 15 years, the Rock River Trail has given away close to two million trees. Each sapling is 1-2 feet long and will need to be planted within a few days of pick up.
- After weeks of uncertainty, Farmers Rising on Rockton Road has learned that temporary funding for IL EATS will now continue through June 30. The program allows Farmers Rising to pay local farmers who provide fresh produce to Old Stone Church Food Pantry, among others.
