Hononegah girls track sent two relays and four individuals to the IHSA state track and field finals.

The Hononegah girls track team placed another tremendous group of young athletes into the state finals on May 16-May 18, 2024 on the campus of Eastern Illinois at O’Brien Field.

Honos 4 x 4 team ran a season best 4:01.47 and took home first place, beating second place Huntley by over 2 seconds. The members are Sophia Hedges, Jordan Dimke, Lauren Frake, and Kylie Simpson. The Indians also had the 4 x 8 squad qualify for state by running a 9:38.81.

Jordan Dimke also is making state in the high jump and 300 hurdles. Dimke high jumped 5’5.75 to again qualify for the IHSA 3A state finals. Jordan ran a 46.60 to qualify for state. The sophomore has gone to state in each of her two years of high school and was part of the NIC-10 championship basketball team.

A couple of Indians long jumped to state yesterday at Huntley. Senior Sophia Hedges jumped 18’ 1.75” and junior Kali Schleis produced a jump of 17’ 19.75”

Senior Amelia Bronnimann is heading to state in pole vaulting by jumping 9’ 9” - that’s just a few inches short of the school record.

The Indian team finished third with 66 points. They were behind Huntley with 148 points and second place Guilford with 77 points.
