New Pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of Rockton-Roscoe News management or staff.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is happy to introduce Pastor Cassandra Langr as our new lead pastor and first female pastor. She was ordained and installed here at Prince of Peace on June 4, 2023.

Cassandra graduated from Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, FL and during that time she worked for Walt Disney Company. Also, while in high school, she joined the United States Army Reserve in 1989, part of an Army program where one could split training and complete the program in the summer.

She first attended college in South Carolina where her Army Reserve Unit was activated in support of Operation Desert Shield, which later became Operation Desert Storm, for which she served combat duty in Saudi Arabia. Upon returning home, Cassandra transferred to a college in Georgia. A few years later she felt called to Montana after visiting a friend whereupon she transferred to Montana State University and joined the Montana National Guard. It was there that she met her husband, Andrew. They were married in 1998 and later welcomed two beautiful daughters, Sarah (1999) and Lydia (2001). She then took time off from school for a few years.

Cassandra returned to Montana State University in 2005 and graduated with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience in 2009. Upon completing those degrees, she took off a year to complete a year-long research opportunity and applied to graduate school (with a focus on cancer research and medicine). She was accepted into a graduate program, but after almost two years of study realized it was not where the Lord wanted her to be.

In 2015 Cassandra was called into the ministry. She applied to seminary and was accepted as a student in Springfield, MO, in the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. After completing her coursework, she applied for internships in the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). She relocated with her family after being accepted as an intern at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Rockton October 2022, to complete her Lutheran year of study.

Cassandra has various hobbies she enjoys such as reading, writing, walking the dogs, watching movies, conversations with people, cooking and being of service to others.

“Forget the former things;

Do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

And streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV

“Yes, indeed, He is doing a new thing!”
