Ralph W. Palmer, 82, son of Chester E. and Gladys M. McIntosh Palmer passed away on December 23, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1939 in Rockford, IL to Ralph and Hazel (McIntosh) Del Vecchio. Ralph married the love of his life, Alice Purcell, in August of 1977.
Ralph worked for several years at Ingersoll as a laser operator and at The National Lock Company in Rockford, IL. Ralph proudly served in the US Air Force. He had a passion for gardening, which he enjoyed in his free time. He also liked listening to music, always loudly.
He is survived by his son, Curt Palmer; daughter, Christine Palmer; and several cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; and wife, Alice.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service. Private burial will be in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
