First Saturday Restoration Day at Keefer Nature Reserve - Sat Feb 3 9:00 am

William & Gayle Keefer Nature Reserve

9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Volunteering at the William & Gayle Keefer Nature Reserve is rewarding, especially when you see the spring ephemerals emerge in the woodlands after a long winter. Historic records show prairie and savanna in some areas of this site, so staff and volunteers are working to restore these places. There are quarries on this site that we are also working to restore to native habitat. Removing bush honeysuckle, removing old fences or installing new fences, or clearing the way for new trails. Early Voting Begins - Thu Feb 8 8:45 pm

First day to vote early (at the County Clerk's office). General Primary Election is March 19, 2024. Besides the race for President of the United States, the only contested election in our area is for Winnebago County Board District 3, between Roscoe residents John Guevara and Ray Thompson. Another Roscoe resident, Bill Crowley, is running unopposed for re-election as County Auditor. South Beloit voters will decide on a referendum on a 1% sales tax. [more details]
