Strong spirits: we need each other

What do we need to do our best? There surely are a lot of ways to answer that question. Here's one: We need each other.

The recent cold snap, along with extenuating circumstances, caused our congregation to not gather this past Sunday. And I realized how much I miss those people when I can't be with them. Not only do I miss them, I need them. They build me up. They encourage me. They help me to be who I really am. They help me do my best.

The writer to the book of Hebrews said much the same. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another..." (Hebrews 10:24,25)

A lot of people say, "I don't need church." I reply, "Have you considered that maybe the church needs you?" We were made for community. We all need it. Where are you getting that?
