Ruby Blake, 89, of Rockton, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Fair Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born September 13, 1932 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of James Bell and Irene Anna (Fick) Howat. She was the youngest of four, having one sister, June and two brothers, Jimmy and Jack. She married George Blake in 1979. Ruby resided on the north side of Chicago and was an avid Cubs fan. Eventually she moved to Las Vegas with her beloved George. She attended Pilgrim Lutheran School and Amundsen High School. Even in her later years, she kept in contact with some of her classmates and enjoyed seeing pictures of them and their grandkids on Facebook.

Ruby was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was always the happiest surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, watching baseball, and her biggest passion, reading. After Ruby's husband George passed away, she moved back to Illinois from Nevada. She was a resident of Fair Oaks for the last five years where she was loved by all. There she enjoyed playing Bingo and left with one million in Bingo Bucks.

Her family is especially grateful to all of the staff at Fair Oaks, where she was very well taken care of and loved by all. They add, "She loved you all very much. Her glowing smile and her bright blue eyes will be surely missed along with the 'I love you's' she generously gave us."

Ruby is predeceased by her husband George, her father James and mother Irene along with her sister June and brothers Jack and Jimmy. Ruby leaves her children Dorothy (Thomas) Eicher and Janet (Charles) Lisinski along with her most loved grand and great grand children: Mara Jobbins (Jared), Amanda Le (Thomas), Earl Polvi, Sandra Lopez (Mario), Jacqueline Lisinski, and Brianna Eicher as well as with her 11 great grand children.

A Celebration of Life will be observed at Central Christian Church, 2460 Milwaukee Road in Beloit, at 4:00 p.mm on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Pastor Dave Meding will be officiating, with special music by his wife Lynne Meding. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Talcott Library in Rockton, IL.
