Strong spirits: childlike
Can you find the magical in the mundane? Do you remember how to dream?
I have recently been challenged (not for the first time) to become as a child, to practice child-like faith, to embrace wonder and whimsy and awe, to take risks, and live fully trusting my heavenly father.
Jesus tells us: "... unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3) Strong words.
While we know we are supposed to grow in our faith and mature in Christ, this challenge of his is compelling. How childlike are you? Are you able to live life full of wonder and whimsy? Can you find the magical in the mundane? Do you remember how to dream?
I encourage you to take some baby steps in this direction. Our heads can be full of knowledge, but our hearts can be empty or hard. And it is in our hearts that Jesus dwells. Let's ask for his help to become the children we are supposed to be.
