  • Anthony Moe has been released from Winnebago County Jail until his arraignment on Sept. 2 on charges of reckless homicide and aggravated DUI. One of his passengers died after his car rolled into a ditch off Route 173. The victim’s mother is collecting donations for his funeral in Peoria. Moe is now represented by Attorney Christopher A. DeRango. Among other charges, he is also cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed. The judge has issued several subpoenas in the case, some of them involving Victim Services.
  • The final pre-trial hearing for Matthew Barnett is scheduled for Sept. 3 in Boone County. The former Roscoe resident is charged with robbing a bank in Belvidere in November 2024. He has been free since shortly after his arrest, the judge ruling that he was neither a flight risk nor a threat to society. Though he still owns a house on Merilot Drive in Chicory Ridge, court records show him living in Rockton now.
