Some of the stories in this issue: some of the most popular articles from the past six months, details about the Rockton Christmas Walk and Hometown Holidays in Roscoe, Roscoe's Mr. Christmas, Rockton's Wimpy's Fund, and the December events from our community calendar.

In April 2021, Rockton-Roscoe News began publishing daily local news online at roscoenews.com. Now our stories are read up to 100,000 times a month, with nearly 2,500 daily email subscribers in the Stateline area and more than 7,200 followers on Facebook.

Rockton-Roscoe News is the first daily all-news outlet for farthest northern Winnebago County, IL since the area was settled 190 years ago. A separate publication, The Herald, began in Rockton in the 1870s, on a weekly schedule. Roscoe has never had its own newspaper, though The Herald was known as the Rockton-Roscoe Herald in the 1980s and 1990s. The Beloit Daily News, which also serves South Beloit, began in the 1840s. In June 1995, it became Wisconsin's first newspaper web site with daily local news. Rockton-Roscoe News remains the only locally owned outlet of the three.
