On Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023 at approximately 4:30 p.m., two vehicles collided head-on near McDonald Rd. and Sage Hen Trail in Roscoe, Illinois. One of the drivers was pronounced dead on the scene. The other driver and passenger “were transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.” [more]
A controversial multi-family development on Roscoe Road might begin as soon as Monday, August 7, 2023. While one plat has been the origin of a lawsuit, the other has been approved and construction will begin. [more]
During Talcott Free Library's board meeting on July 17, 2023, concerns were raised about "suggestive" books displayed during Pride Month. During public comments, patrons expressed objections to the placement of certain LGBTQ+ books. The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) recently announced that Ruben Hernandez, Roscoe Post 2955 Commander, has achieved outstanding All-American status as a District Commander. He is one of 232 VFW District Commanders from around the world to earn the title. He served in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008-2009. Hernandez also served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. [more]
