Meet Greg Ragan: candidate for Roscoe Township Trustee
Greg Ragan is hoping to return to the Township board, where he served previously.

Greg Ragan is running for Roscoe Township Trustee in the April 1 election. Check out all our candidate profiles in our expanded 2025 Election Guide for Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit.
Why did you decide to run?
I feel that the current township board has not been financially fiscal with the taxpayers money and felt that I could do a better job with my experience and financial background.
Tell us about your background and accomplishments that you bring to the table.
I have been in the insurance industry for 41 years and have learned a lot about finance, budgeting, and negotiating. I was a prior trustee on the township board and helped with planning and implementing the Stone Bridge Trail, the Bike Path System from Roscoe to Rockton, Kidsworld Playground at Stone Creek School, and Kelly Myers Park.
What do you hope to accomplish in this office in the future?
By working with the other board members to plan for the township short and long term and by listening to the residents on what they would like to see for our community.
Why should people vote for you?
Because I have the experience needed to work with the board and am willing to negotiate the best tax dollar decisions with the board and what is best for the community. I am also endorsed by Congressman Darin LaHood, Senator Andrew Chesney, Senator Dave Severson, State Representative John Cabello, State Representative Joe Sosnowski, Winnebago County Board Republican Caucus Chairman Paul Arena, Winnebago County Sherriff Gary Caruana, Winnebago County Board Chairman Joe Chiarelli, Winnebago County State's Attorney J Hanley, and Winnebago County Board members Brad Lindmark, Ray Thompson, and Jim Webster.
