League of Women Voters host Candidate Meet and Greet at Roscoe Community Center
A large crowd of local residents gathered at Roscoe Township Community Center to hear from candidates who are running for local elections, Thursday evening, March 13.

The parking lot at Roscoe Township Community Center was filled to capacity on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Local residents attended a Meet & Greet, sponsored by the League of Women Voters. This Get Out the Vote event featured candidates for the April 1, 2025 local elections representing people throughout the greater Hononegah area. Candidates were invited for the Villages of Roscoe and Rockton, the Townships of Rockton and Roscoe, library boards for Rockton and Roscoe, and school boards for Hononegah, Kinnikinnick, Prairie Hill, Rockton, and Rock Valley College. 

Teresa Hill of the League of Women Voters organized the event, which was co-sponsored by Rockton-Roscoe News. Jennifer Blaisdell introduced the evening’s moderator, Michael McGinnis, editor of Rockton-Roscoe News.

Each candidate was given three minutes to introduce themselves and talk about their reasons for running for election.

Following the meet & greet, residents had the opportunity to talk to individual candidates.

The local elections will be held April 1, 2025.
