Joann Merrick enjoyed golf, needlework, bridge, and Up North family vacations

Joan M. "Joann" (Cahill) Merrick, age 91, died on March 23, 2025. Joann was born in Janesville, WI on August 10, 1933, and was the 13th of 14 children born to Kathryn (Arendt) and Edward Cahill. Joann was a 1952 graduate of Janesville High School where she met her future husband, Robert E. Merrick. Bob and Joann were married on September 28, 1953. Throughout high school Joann was a member of the "Dirty Dozen" club. Joann was an avid golfer and enjoyed needlework. Up North family vacations, and playing cards, especially with her bridge club girls.

Joann is survived by her children, Nancy (Steve) Anderson. Rockton, IL; Steve (Lori) Merrick, West Bend, WI; Liz (Steve) Beerli, Byron, IL: Patty Merrick. Byron, IL; Bob (Stacy) Merrick, Janesville, WI; and Tom (Heather) Merrick, Byron, IL: her brother Richard (Annette) Cahill of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, five brothers (Pat, Bill, Buck, Jim, and Sherman) and seven sisters (Romaine, Charlotte, Sally, Mary Kate, Betty Ann. Nancy, and Jerl). Funeral services will be private.
