VFW Post 11019 Makes History by Hosting District 6 Meeting

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — VFW Post 11019 marked a historic milestone on Sunday, September 13, when it hosted a Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Illinois District 6 meeting for the first time in the Post’s history. Veterans and VFW leaders from across District 6 gathered at the South Beloit Post located in the American Legion facility on Dorr Road for lunch at 1 p.m., followed by the District’s business meeting at 2 p.m. Attendees conducted official business, shared updates and strengthened their collective commitment to serving veterans, military families and their communities. The meeting also brought another proud moment for Post 11019. During the business meeting, Rob McLain, the Post’s Senior Vice Commander, was nominated and elected to serve as Junior Vice Commander of VFW Department of Illinois District 6. McLain was formally installed during the meeting. His election expands Post 11019’s representation within District 6 leadership and provides another opportunity for the South Beloit Post to contribute to the VFW’s mission throughout northern Illinois. McLain is a U.S. Army veteran and an active advocate for veterans and their families. In addition to serving as Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 11019, he has participated in numerous community-service projects, veterans’ outreach efforts and programs supporting fellow service members. Hosting the District meeting was a significant accomplishment for Post 11019 and reflected the dedication of its officers, members, volunteers and supporters. Their efforts provided a welcoming and successful gathering for VFW representatives from across the District. The historic occasion represented more than a first for the Post—it demonstrated the continued growth, leadership and commitment of VFW Post 11019 in South Beloit. Post 11019 congratulates Rob McLain on his election and installation as District 6 Junior Vice Commander and thanks everyone who helped make the Post’s first District meeting a success.
