Rockton firefighters quickly contained a fire in a 15 x 30 shed in the 1600 block of Guetschow Avenue in South Beloit, IL on Nov. 9, 2022, just before it spread to other buildings. Personnel arrived around 4:15 p.m. No injuries were reported. The fire appears to be accidental in nature. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Automatic aid was provided by South Beloit Fire, Harlem-Roscoe Fire, and Northwest Rescue. While firefighters continued to work on the incident after the sun had set, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office closed off the 1600 block of Rood Avenue for about an hour, one block to the north.  Chief Kirk Wilson would like to thank his firefighters and the automatic aid companies for their hard work. "Job well done."
