Food trucks have become a popular place for a meal or snack the last few years. The Village of Roscoe is getting in on the trend.

Upstream Fish Co. Truck returned to the Crazy Llama on Friday, May 6, and paid a visit to Roscoe Village Hall, 10631 Main Street, on Friday, April 30. A steady flow of seafood lovers lined up in front of the truck to order fresh fish at its finest. Fish tacos, crab cakes, fish & chips, fish sandwiches and lobster rolls were available.

The traveling fish truck is a collaboration between Tara Reibold and her brother David Daut.

Reibold, who lives in Roscoe, said she has always dreamed of owning and operating a food truck.

Tara Reibold, owner of Upstream Fish Co. food truck, greeted customers at Roscoe Village Hall on Friday, April 30.

Reibold’s brother David Daut, owns Upstream Fish Market in Camdenton, MO, near Lake of the Ozarks. The fresh fish market has been very successful, winning “Best on the Lake” in 2021, and “Best Seafood Market in Missouri” in 2022.

The siblings recently joined forces and became partners in the fish business. Daut doesn't sell fish from the waters of Lake of the Ozarks - that would be illegal, laughs Reibold - but Reibold uses the same supplier as her brother's award-winning market, operating and preparing food in the Upstream Fish Co. food truck.

Roscoe Village Administrator Scott Sanders has been looking into making Roscoe a food truck destination. He recently contacted Reibold and arranged for her to set up shop in the parking lot next to Village Hall on Friday, April 30.

Sanders said business was good and that he would like to have the truck parked there every Friday, and possibly on Wednesday, as well. “It’s a good way to draw people to the downtown area.”

Reibold said her business is getting busier. “We were in Machesney Park last week, and at Crazy Llama Brewing Company in Main Street Square on Wednesday, May 4.”
