Skip Reynolds enjoyed taking his granddaughter to breakfast

Robert “Skip” J. Reynolds, Jr., 78, of Roscoe, IL, was born April 20, 1944, in Rockford, IL, the son of Robert J. and Theresa A. (Keichinger) Reynolds, Sr. He attended Harlem High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He married Cheryl K. Freeman on June 25, 1966, in Loves Park, IL. He was employed by Crouse Cartage Co. for 15 years, then worked for R. L. Leak for 12 years, retiring in 2018. 

Skip was called home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Skip was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Skip enjoyed taking his granddaughter, Laila, to Sunrise Family Restaurant for breakfast and to Starbucks. An avid Green Bay Packer fan, he enjoyed race cars, body work, painting, playing Monopoly, fishing, hunting, boating, and watching Western movies.



Survivors include his son, Bobby (Nicole Cincinnati) Reynolds of Roscoe; grandchildren, Laila and Nevan; sister, Terry (Jim) Shepard of Stillman Valley; several nieces and nephews; loving fur baby, Chance. He was predeceased by his parents; wife; and daughter, Carolyn.

Service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites  accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
