𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞? Hononegah Forest Preserve, #80 Hononegah Road, Rockton, IL 61072

The evening features live music by Viceroy band a talented five-piece band of young Rockford natives covering rock classics from every decade. 🦋 Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets, food, and drinks (bug spray recommended) to enjoy the picturesque views of the preserve. Children can partake in engaging, nature-inspired crafts under the Towering Pines Shelterhouse.

Cool down with delicious ice cream from Dairyhäus (while supplies last) 🍨 and immerse yourself in Native American culture with our partners from Macktown Living History. FPWC staff and volunteers will lead guided hikes throughout the evening, offering insights into the rich natural history of our oldest preserve. FPWC merchandise will be available for purchase.

The celebration concludes with free popcorn and an outdoor movie hosted by the Sheriff Winnebago County, starting at 9:30 pm. 🍿

Purchased in 1924, Hononegah Forest Preserve is FPWC’s oldest and one of Winnebago County’s most beloved forest preserves. Its majestic woods are a cherished spot for enjoying fall color displays and woodland wildflowers in the spring.
