Mary Lou "LuLu" Harris (1951-2022) was a Shirland firefighter and dispatcher
Mary Lou "LuLu" Harris, 70, of Shirland was a firefighter and radio operator for the Shirland Fire Department for over 30 years. Mary retired from her position as waitress and cook at the River's Edge Campground to take care of her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
She died on April 20, 2022 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 30, 1951 in Beloit, WI, daughter of Kenneth and June (Copus) Wines. She graduated from Hononegah High School and married John Harris on April 17, 1971.
She is survived by her children; John (Sarah) Harris of Beloit Township, WI, Jennifer (Christopher) Knowles of Loves Park, Marie (Bill) Huenefeld of Orangeville; grandchildren Hannah (Parker), Joseph, Briar, Brandi (AJ), Samantha, Colin, Lucas; great-grandchildren Kailynn, Myka, DreKo; siblings Helen (Larry) Radant, Billy (Debbie) Wines, Kevin (Dawn) Wines, Lyle (Linda) Spangler; brothers-in-law Bill Gesell and Denny Johnson; sister-in-law Connie (Tom) Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends Jim and Laurie Lundstrom and George Sly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Charles and Gladys Harris, her husband, sisters Robin Gesell and Diane Johnson and brother Kenny Wines.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shirland Fire Department, 13086 Mitchell Street. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services assisted the family.
