Macktown Living History's first event of 2022 will be "Out and About in the Winter" on Sunday, January 9, from 2:00-4 p.m., at 2221 Freeport Road in Rockton. Like all Second Sunday events, it is free to the public.
Visitors can discover what winter was like at Winnebago County's first settlement, including traveling, skiing, snowshoeing, working, playing, skating, and ice cutting. The site's historic buildings from the 1830s and 1840s will be open.
