HCHS students kick off homecoming week with storefront paintings

Painting plate glass windows on storefronts along Main Street in Rockton has become a traditional kick-off of Homecoming week at Hononegah Community High School (HCHS).

On Saturday, Sept. 24, students representing school clubs, sports, and organizations, descended on Main Street to show their spirit and artistic skills decorating windows.

Homecoming activities will prevail all through the week of Sept. 27. The homecoming parade is Friday, October 1, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Hononegah Marching Band leads the way through Main Street, followed by the cheerleading squad, dance squads and floats representing each class, Hononegah alumni and student clubs.

Friday evening the Hononegah Indians football team will play Belvidere North, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The homecoming dance will be held at the school on Saturday, Oct. 2, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
