Christian Liberty Chargers sent home by the Lady SOBOs basketball team
The Lady SOBOs defended their home court in a back-to-back victory, giving Christian Liberty a 45-23 loss.
Following a Jan. 14, 2025 basketball victory against Hiawatha which brought the Lady SOBOs to an 8-10 WL record, they faced Christian Liberty's Lady Chargers and added another number to their win-loss record (2-6). With a 45-23 game, both teams still showed their talent and kept this game exciting.
CLA demonstrated good blocking and offense, which slowed down the lady SOBOs despite their lead. They managed to bring good pressure at all times on the court and kept the SOBOs away from getting close to the hoop. The game stayed energetic with good performances throughout the game. The ladies took a well-earned break during half-time with a score of 26-11 for the SOBOs, where our SOBO pep band performed their half-time show with "YMCA", "Uma Thurman," and more.
The third quarter was just as tight as before performance-wise but the Lady SOBOs brought back their defense to keep the Chargers behind. Between quarters, sophomore Aiden Petitt performed a solo to bring some needed energy to the lady SOBOs and the spectators. The ladies wrapped up this game with a closer score than before at 45-23.
Throughout the game, some stars were on the SOBOs' side, with senior player Taniyah Crawford making excellent drives and executing great blocks. Fellow senior Taniya Cotherine-Evans also demonstrated her skills that night. A few younger players I felt were noteworthy would have been freshmen Nykira Johnson and Abigail Rozsa.
Our Lady SOBOs' next home game is this Thursday, January 16, 2025 against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy Lady Guardians.
