This week in Roscoe, South Beloit, Rockton, but branching out a little to Caledonia, Harrison, and Rockford: jazz at the Dari Ripple, bluegrass festival, rummage sale turns into 500 gifts, free lunch, story time, live music, Scandinavian golf day, sci-fi book club, murder mystery dinner, teen writers club, car show, the Rat Pack, village board meetings, bird outing, scrapbooking class, food pantry, fire and drum circle. It's almost all happening in Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton. We also cover anything that happens in Harrison and Shirland, but most of the year, they tend to be quiet places.

Join the Swedish Historical Society for a family friendly “Night at the Range” at Golf Shack, in partnership with Garrett's. There will be games, prizes and giveaways. Enjoy drinks and appetizers by Garrett's Restaurant  as you hit a bucket of balls in support of your Scandinavian friends. Old Stone Church Food Pantry - Thu Sep 19 9:00 am

9 – 11 a.m. If you reside in the Hononegah/South Beloit School Districts, help is available for you. Please bring a photo I.D. and a piece of mail to provide proof of residency. That is all you need. It is that simple. This food pantry has been operating in Rockton for more than 25 years, assisting around 60 families each week on average.
