June 15-18, 2023 at Settlers Park in Rockton, Illinois. Concerts, vendors, midway rides. The largest fundraiser of the year for Rockton Lions charities. The event includes music, food & drinks, a carnival, a mobile blood drive, a 5K Run for Carrie Lynn, and the OSD Parade. [more details]

Mature beyond his years, the Maryland native’s single, “Don’t Come Lookin’” cemented Jackson as the youngest solo male Country artist to reach the top of the charts with his first release. Old Settlers Days 2023: Josh Turner - Sun Jun 18 12:00 pm

For two decades, the deep, velvet voice of Josh Turner has been the most recognizable on country radio. Josh describes his music as "South Carolina Low Country." His debut album, 2003's Long Black Train, sold more than a million copies and his second effort, Your Man, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard magazine's Top Country Albums chart. [more details]
Juneteenth - Mon Jun 19 8:00 am
Juneteenth celebrates African-American culture and the gradual emancipation of slaves in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger landed on Galveston Island, Texas and announced that all slaves in Texas had been free for two years. News of the Emancipation Proclamation had already traveled by word of mouth through much of the Confederacy. [more details]

A meeting of the school boards of Hononegah, Kinnikinnick, Rockton, Prairie Hill, and Shirland school districts. Village trustees from Rockton and Roscoe will also attend. Drive 815: Toy Story 3 - Fri Jun 23 8:30 pm

One $25 ticket admits a full carload! Early-bird tickets are available for only $20 per car to see Toy Story 3. And Finding Dory is Saturday night. The show starts at sunset (about 8:30 p.m.) but bounce houses, glitter tattoos, games, music, balloon-tying, and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Pizza, ice cream, theater popcorn, drinks, candy, and chips at reasonable prices.
