Starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, all three major committees of the Village of Rockton Board of Trustees will meet, half an hour each, beginning with the Administration Committee, who will discuss grant evaluation strategy and Al’s Main Street Tap parking spots, which they have discussed before.

When the full board meets at 7 p.m., Mayor Peterson will ask for approval to appoint Rachel Lynch, owner of Healing Touch Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine, and Erica Smith, owner of Rockton Sanctuary Spa, to the village's Historic Preservation Commission, both for three-year terms.

The Village of Rockton will consider amending Section 112.24 to allow liquor license fees and video gaming terminal fees to be prorated for golf courses.

Trustee Justin York will request approval for routine weapons purchases by the Rockton Police Department. They want to spend $830.94 for "Flashlight and AR-15 Charging Handle and Catch" from Brownells and $2,950 for M4-76-16 rifles from Sons of Liberty Gun Works (SOLGW) in San Antonio, Texas. According to the SOLGW website, the company "manufactures high-quality AR-15s, gun parts, and accessories. They have proudly produced hard-use guns for use by civilians and numerous government entities since 2014."

The M4-76-16, a lightweight semi-automatic rifle, comes with a tactical soft case, lifetime warranty certificate, and a copy of the US Constitution. Rockton police will continue to carry handguns for regular duty, however.

Trustee York will also ask to spend $2,400 for in-person training and process review for utility billing from Civic Systems.

The board is expected to approve an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of South Beloit, the Village of Roscoe, the Village of Rockton and the Stateline Mass Transit District, which would require the SMTD to provide a ridership utilization report and annual financial report before the municipalities pay their share of the SMTD budget.

Trustee Tyler Seever will request authorization of a fence in the drainage & utility easement for the residents of 228 Autumnwood Drive, and the approval of a block party permit for River Hills Parkway on Saturday, September 10.
