Strong spirits: trust him
The promises of God are sure. They can be relied on.
In the church, it is the season of Lent, a time of reflection and turning to God. We are looking at the last words of Jesus to his disciples before his death on the cross- things he very much wanted his friends to remember. Here are some instructions and promises he made to them... and to us...
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in me." (John 14:1)
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well." (John 14:6,7)
"The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things..." (John 14:26)
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you." (John 14:27)
The promises of God are sure. They can be relied on. I encourage you to read them in the context of John 14. I encourage you to receive them for yourself.
