Steven Gundry had a passion for farming
Funeral will be Tuesday morning, with visitation Monday evening.
Steven "Guner" Gundry, 67, of Shirland, IL, graduated from Hononegah High School in 1973. He married Bonnie L. Bennett in Shirland, IL on July 12, 1975. He retired from Wonder Bread as a route salesman in November 2012. He then worked for Randy Fleming Heating and Cooling for over 3 years.
Steve died Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
He was born on December 1, 1954 in Beloit, WI, the son of Richard H. and Judith A. (Neudorff) Gundry. Steve was a 4H leader for many years and a volunteer member of the Shirland Fire Department for over 20 years. Guner had a passion for farming and enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed watching car racing, cheering for the Chicago Bears, and going camping. He loved his family and enjoyed attending all the sporting events and livestock shows.

Survivors include wife Bonnie, daughters Anna (Davin) Ganhs, Stephanie (Adam) Smith; grandchildren Aubrey, Ashton, Mason and Bryson; sisters Christine (Scott) Nagel, Peggy Foster numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in McCorkle Funeral Home- Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5.
