Post members voted unanimously in August to form an Auxiliary dedicated to serving veterans, military families and the community. The charter effort needed at least 15 eligible applicants to move forward.

District 6 Auxiliary President Tinia Kulavic and Past District Auxiliary President Beth Bland attended Wednesday’s meeting and greeted prospective members. Men and women submitted applications and shared stories about the veterans whose service made them eligible.

Members from across District 6 also came to assist.

The post has gathered the applications needed to proceed, but eligible members can still join and have their names included on the charter document. Organizers say the new Auxiliary will help strengthen the post’s ability to serve veterans, military families, youth and the South Beloit community.

Post 11019 also expressed gratitude for its partnership with the South Beloit American Legion. The organizations share a post home, and the VFW appreciates the Legion’s support of its combat and overseas veterans.

Remember to tell them you “Saw it in the Rockton-Roscoe News.”
