Snowdrift Coffee – not your usual morning brew
The founders of Snowdrift Coffee Roasting chose the slower-paced lifestyle of Roscoe to start their coffee roasting business.
Co-owners of Snowdrift Coffee Roasters, Rita Kaminsky and Ant Walach have come back to their Midwest roots after living and working on the East and West coasts for 20+ years.
Rita grew up in Milwaukee and Ant has relatives in northern Illinois. They were looking for a slower-paced lifestyle to start a coffee roasting business, and stumbled across Roscoe, about midway between the two areas: a perfect location for Snowdrift Coffee Roasting.

Their goal was to remain a small business. “Just the two of us – a Mom & Pop operation,” Rita said.
Ant started his career in coffee production as a barista. He went on to positions of management, café operations, and leadership training roles.
Rita focuses primarily on operations management and training, and often serves as a judge and coach in regional, national and international events.
During their years away, they worked in several well-respected companies in the specialty coffee industry. They count over 30 years of combined, professional experience in roasting, operations, training and quality control.
“We are focused on quality and sustainability while providing ethically sourced specialty coffee in our community” Rita said. “We pay well above C-market rate for green coffee. We highlight specific farms when possible and try to keep our price points accessible to our customers.”
Snowdrift Coffee can be found in many coffee shops and specialty stores in the area: DeeDee’s Main St. Coffee and Décor in Rockton; Bushel & Peck, Beloit; Main Street Deli, Roscoe; Cherry Valley Cattle and Cream, Edwards Apple Orchard and Synergy Collective in Roscoe.
The couple roast and ship coffee anywhere. They provide free shipping on all domestic orders.
