What to do with $850,000 in Roscoe Township?
Roscoe Township board will discuss community center & park enhancements and possibly hiring an architect at a Mar. 11 meeting.
Note: A previous version of this story said the funds came from a grant. Roscoe Township replied on Mar. 11, "The $850,000 that the township is retaining is not grant money. It is just the general fund balance that we have for future rec projects. However, we will be applying for grants to use toward projects such as splash pad, pickball courts, parking lot expansions, and signage."
Roscoe Township will plan on how to spend $930,000 for Roscoe Township parks at a March 11 meeting at 6 p.m. at the Roscoe Township office.
Roscoe Township supervisor Bob Nowicki stated in a phone call with Rockton-Roscoe News that among the items considered, the board may appoint an architect to help plan out possible expansions and improvements at the Roscoe Township Community Center and/or Robert J. Cross Memorial Park and its sports fields.
This agenda item comes shortly after Roscoe Township sent out a survey to township residents asking for opinions about parks in the township and possible improvements: including parking and digital signage at the Roscoe Township Community Center.
