Russell “Russ” E. Mosher, 88, was called home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He graduated from Hononegah High School and St. Francis University with a bachelor’s degree in health science. He was a member of the First Congregational Community Church of Roscoe.

Russ was born November 30, 1934 in Beloit, Wisconsin, son of Floyd and Verna (Porter) Mosher. He married Patricia Ann Bender in Roscoe on October 19, 1957. He was worked as a lab technician for Beloit Memorial Hospital, among others. After he retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital, he was employed by several area clinics.

Russ was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed feeding the birds and other wildlife. He also played the organ at church and several other musical instruments.

Survivors include his children, Kim Mosher, Kevin (Paula) Mosher and Karrie (Tony) Lewis; five grandchildren, Kevin Mosher, Beth (Kevin) Matlock, Anthony (Sara) Lewis, Christopher (Fauna) Lewis and Kaylee Ann (Jake Kellerman) Lewis; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Mosher and two sisters, Beverly (Ray) Craig and Janadene Lane; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Amberwood Nursing Home, Mercy Hospice, and Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department for their assistance and care. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Patricia, and sister Betty.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with a visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Roscoe Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Russ's name.
