Roscoe Road Bridge Project Hits Key September Milestones

As we move Labor Day weekend, the Roscoe Road Bridge reconstruction continues to track right on schedule, with crews pushing through a critical stretch of structural work that will set the tone for the fall timeline.

Progress on Key Structural Components
Crews are deep into structural steel repairs and work on the bridge approaches, two of the most labor‑intensive phases of the project. The county also confirmed that lead abatement—a major safety requirement—has been fully completed, clearing the way for the next round of structural activity.
County Engineer Carlos Molina, P.E., said the project remains firmly on track.
“Finger joints, bearings and other steel components will be delivered within the next two weeks,” Molina said.

Those materials will support the next major milestone: bridge deck forming, expected to begin around September 17. If weather holds and crews avoid delays, the county anticipates the concrete deck pour to begin in mid‑October.
A Community Effort
With the bridge closed since early July, detour routes have become part of daily life for many Roscoe and Rockton drivers. Molina emphasized the community’s role in keeping the project moving smoothly.
“I want to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during the project,” he said. “We ask drivers to continue using caution while traveling on the detour routes.”
