- John and Sheryl Peterson's new real estate brokerage has a memorable name: PETERSON Real Estate. Moving from Roscoe, their office is now at 201 West Main Street, Rockton, west of Prairie Street. John recently began a second term as Rockton's mayor.
- The Village of Rockton could use some extra hands for a few fun events this summer. Students are invited to help too: Sunday, June 22 - Downtown Rockton Spectator Party at Settlers Park. Help is needed from 7 am to 12 pm. Saturday, July 12 and Aug. 9 - Summerpalooza Street Dance Series on W. Main St. Help is needed from 3 pm - 9 pm. - The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office reports that 44-year-old Reggie Klaas of Roscoe died after a motor vehicle crash on Sunday, June 8, 2025, when the Chicory Ridge resident lost control of his vehicle on Wesleyan Avenue in Rockford about 12:25 a.m. This incident remains under investigation by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Rockford Police Department.
