- At tonight's Roscoe Township meeting, trustees will discuss/approve a design for a garden/storage shed for the Community Center and review/approve a proposal for "renaming township parks to reduce public confusion." One solution: trustees may vote to name Cross Park once again after Roscoe Township Republican leader Tom Hawes. Possible sources of confusion: the Cross House is at Founders Park, not Cross Park, while Google Maps lists both Cross Park and Hawes Park - at the same location. The community's founder, Robert J. Cross, once owned both pieces of property. The Roscoe Township Community Center is also located at Founders Park, behind the Cross House.
- The Kinnikinnick CCSD #131 Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the library at Kinnikinnick School at 5410 Pine Lane, Roscoe, IL 61073. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comment on the proposed E-Learning Program which, if approved, will permit students’ instruction to be received electronically while students are not physically present in lieu of the district’s scheduled emergency days. This program is allowed under Public Act 101-0012. If approved, the E-Learning Program will be implemented for a three-year term.
