- Drake Broege, an accounting major from South Beloit, IL, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team during the 2025 season, which began Saturday, Sept. 6 with a 45-14 victory at home against Carleton College.
- In response to the planned 4-way stop at McCurry and Love, Steve Martin, owner of Seek Your Geek, says, “Living in the area for 20 years and traveling that intersection several times every day, this is a horrible idea... Just think, during morning and afternoon rush, 1,000 residents go that way. Now make all of them stop and go one way at a time. Traffic will back up to near the golf course... I don't have the numbers but I am pretty certain anyone that was ticketed for the crash was on Love Road and they already have a stop sign they are not listening to.” The key finding of a 2022 study showed that drivers on Love Road were not yielding to traffic on McCurry Road, even after stopping.
